Novel Game of Thrones | Examining the personality of Rhaegar Targaryen
Rhaegar targaryen is one of the most
important characters in Game of Thrones with the least amount of screen time.
His actions have motivated most of the events we witness. Rhaegar is located
underground. How can the dead man still have such a influence? Rhaegar
Targaryen was the son and heir of Mad King Aerys II, Queen Rhaella, and older
brother of Viserys and Danerys. King Iris' relationship with his son was
strained. Due to the paranoia that he suffers, Rhaegar was trying to overthrow
him and seize the Iron Throne, which was quite possible given the questionable
mental state of the Kings of Insane Kings.
While Danny was too young to remember
what her older brother looked like, Viserys remembers he's a good killer and
lover of violence, qualities that the younger aspires to. "Did Viserys
never tell you?" "He told me Rhaegar was good at killing
people." Throughout Game of Thrones history, Targaryens would marry their
siblings to preserve the purity of the Valyrian bloodline. But, not finding
eligible relatives, Rhaegar ended up marrying Dornish Elia Martell. Best known
on the show by Auburn's sister Martell, "The last time we were in the
capital was many years ago. Another win. My sister Elijah and Rajar Targaryen
the last dragon."
Tywin
Lannister wanted him to marry Cersei, but Mad King felt that this match was
under Rhaegar. Raigar and Elijah had two children who did not live long after
the usurper's war, or Robert's rebellion began. Most importantly, Rhaegar had a
third son, with Ned Stark's sister Lyanna, who actually survived, and grew up
to become one of the show's most beloved characters, Jon Snow. Liana was
engaged to Robert Baratheon when she was kidnapped by Raigar. "What
Rhaegar Targaryen did to your sister, the woman I loved. I'll kill every
Targaryen that I lay my hands on." We'll get into the question of what
exactly is Rhaegar and Lyanna's relationship a little bit.
Liana John gave birth to a secret. Had
Robert known about this unfair competition for the throne, he would have
thought he would have killed the child. "You know that. You have to
protect it." So Liana's brother, Ned, took him to be his illegitimate son.
"Lord Edrick Stark is my father." "And Mrs. Stark is not your
mother, which makes you a bastard." Not until he tells his wife, Catlin,
the truth. Thus Rigar's blood and legacy live tangibly in Jon Snow. Since
Rhaegar is dead at the beginning of the story, we will never have a chance to
make a judgment on his character. We only see other people's judgments.
"In my dreams, I kill him every night." "Rigar chooses a spot on
the hook or a street of seeds. Then he sings." "it was good?"
“It was very good.
Reagar never liked to kill. He liked
to sing. “And what did you do with the money?” “Well, once he gave it to a
singer on the street. Once he gave her to an orphanage at the bottom of a flea.
Once upon a time we were horribly drunk. ”So, how was the man really like? The
books depicted a shift in his personality from a bookworm to a night fight.
Although he grew up intellectually and peacefully, he shifted his focus to
combat training after reading a prophecy in a scroll about The second coming of
Azor Ahai, the legendary hero who fought darkness with a sword called
Lightbringer. With the coming of the White Walker foretold, Raigar first
thought he was the promised prince. Then he later thought that the prince would
be all his future children working together, because Sigil Targaryen is a
three-headed dragon. Therefore, more than his intelligence or strength, Rigar
believed in the power of destiny and his duty to that fate. When Danny sees her
older brother seeing her in the House of the Immortal, he reveals this
prophecy, which could foretell that three Dragon Riders are likely John and
Danny And some fans have speculated that Tyrion may need to reclaim the Iron
Throne.
The fact that Jon Snow is the son of Rhaegar
Targaryen and Lyanna Stark has proven one of the most famous fan theories and
now well established. But the revelation of paternity begs the question of how
John's parents met and fell in love in the first place, given that they were
from opposing homes, Rigar was already married, and they had never been seen
together in public before. Were they really in love, or was Raigarh the
kidnapping rape monster that Targaryen's enemies say was? Then he kidnapped and
raped her. For any confirmed facts, we have to return to the books. They tell
us that Rhaegar won a dueling tournament in Harrenhal, one of the greatest
tournaments at the time, and instead of choosing his wife as Queen of Love and
Beauty, he passed by and placed a crown of blue winter roses in Lyanna Stark's
lap, shocking the whole audience. According to the books, earlier in the
tournament, a masked player came to defend the honor of a man who had been
bullied by a few squires. The Mysterious Man was smaller than the other knights
and had a shield with a laughing tree on it. He later disappeared and the king
in his crazy state thought that the night should be his enemy, so King Rigarh
sent to go to find the Knight of the Laughing Tree, but Reagar returned and
claimed that he could only find the knight's shield. Fans assumed that Rhaegar
discovered that the Knight of the Laughing Tree was Lyanna, that the couple had
fallen in love, and that he had already lied to the king to save her.
Well it looks like he's checked out. Raigar
would never have told his father that he had found a knight due to his shaky
relationship with the king. Liana was a skilled swordsman, but smaller in
stature, which explains why Rhajar chose her over his wife to be the Queen of
Love and Beauty, a seemingly random and dangerous choice. Instead of just
celebrating her physical beauty, he was honoring the strength and kindness she
showed by standing up for the man who was being bullied. However, some fans
have also assumed that this was not an affair but rather a strategic move for
Rigar. If he truly believed that he needed three children to fulfill the prince
promised to the prophecy, he would have had an affair, because his wife was
deemed unfit to have a third child. After Knight from the Laughing Tree Ring,
Liana is escorted to the Tower of Joy to give birth to Jon Snow, and she died
shortly after giving birth. Rhaegar, his wife and the first two children were
all killed in Robert's Rebellion.
So who was Rhaegar, really?
Was he a hopeless romantic swept away
by his love for Liana Stark? Targaryen Another Prophecy Freak? Or was he just
another skilled Thrones player? Or a little of all of these? Like many of the
characters, Rigar may have roots and historical figures. Perhaps Henry Stuart
Prince Wells, with his reputation for intelligence and musical talent, may have
inspired Rigarh's early years. Meanwhile, the English Prince Edward, known as
the Black Prince son of Edward III, can serve as a model for Rhaegar's skill as
a military and military leader. Like Rhaegar, both real-life princes were loved
of their times and died before they had a chance to become king, causing their
countries to mourn. As a character.
Rhaegar is one of the most complex and profound examples of George RR Martin's ability as a writer. Without appearing physically in the current story, Rhaegar Targaryen not only managed to influence the life of an entire kingdom, but also became one of the most 3D characters. In a way, he can be compared to real celebrities or politicians. We will never truly know their intentions or their inner lives, yet the results of their actions can be extremely poignant and polarizing. While fans can form strong opinions about each of the main characters in Game of Thrones, we have to imagine Rhaegar for ourselves because we only see the effect he leaves behind. "Rigar fought valiantly, Rigar fought with nobility, Rigar died."
