How to run WhatsApp on the computer
WhatsApp Web can also be a browser version of the preferred WhatsApp
Messenger for chatting and video / audio calls from iOS and Android. WhatsApp
desktop is available in two types - a downloadable system app for Mac and
Windows or a way to find out directly from the browser.
WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop work as extensions to your WhatsApp
mobile account, and every message is synced between your phone and your
computer, so the conversations will display on any device regardless of where
you started. Here, we will guide you through our thanks for using the WhatsApp
browser app.
The operation and interface are identical in iOS 13 and iOS 14.
Likewise, Android 10's interface is the equivalent one as the previous version.
How to use WhatsApp Web on PC
To run WhatsApp Web on your computer, just click on its URL in Chrome,
Firefox, Opera, Safari or Edge and scan the QR code on the page using the
WhatsApp mobile app from your phone. WhatsApp Web runs automatically inside the
browser and stays active until you log out of your computer or phone.
Go to the WhatsApp website to link the WhatsApp Web along with your
mobile application.
Run WhatsApp on an iPhone or Android phone.
- • Scan the QR code that appears in the stand next to your phone's WhatsApp.
- On the iPhone, tap Settings> WhatsApp Web / Desktop.
- Click on Scan the QR code and hold your phone with the code to pair it.
- On Android phones, tap the three dots in the upper right of the chat pane.
- Tap on WhatsApp Web and scan the QR code.
- Your smartphone account is now linked to the web version of the app.
- From there you will send and receive messages from your computer's desktop browser.
Features of WhatsApp Web on PC
• After scanning the QR code, it will display your WhatsApp chat list
directly on the webpage. On the left, you will see your chats by clicking on a
contact to open the chat and record your messages, if you have saved them.
• On the far right of the web page, there are three icons: Status, New
Chat, and Menu, which provide a list of nested options. The Status option
reveals all the statuses posted by your contacts with the ability to reply from
the reply area at the bottom of the pane. Clicking New Conversation opens the
contact list on the left side of the page. From here, you'll create an
alternate group or start a conversation.
• The three-dot menu allows you to create an alternate group, change the
information on your profile, search archived chats, view starred messages,
change settings such as notifications and chat background, or log out.
How to send messages via WhatsApp Web on a computer
WhatsApp Web is easy to use because the mobile app, and hence the
interface will look familiar. To send a message from your desktop, click on an
existing conversation or click on the new chat icon and choose the contact you
want to interact with. Here, you will see past chats, if they have been saved,
or alternately see the message bar at the bottom. Click on the message bar type
and start chatting. When you deal with your message, hit the Enter key on your
keyboard to send - or just click the send icon.
If you want to merge documents, pictures or recordings, just attach
files from your desktop and send them as you want the opposite message by
clicking on the install icon "Attach" in the best of this chat.
Install WhatsApp on your computer
WhatsApp also provides a choice of a desktop client for Windows or Mac
which you can simply download directly from the WhatsApp website. It's a bit
like a web app. After downloading to Windows, follow the steps of the
installer. On a Mac, drag the WhatsApp icon to the Applications folder. After
that, launch the desktop app. Just like the online browser version, you will
receive a prompt to scan a QR code in a similar fashion to the web version.
WhatsApp keeps you logged in until you are ready to log out.
To log out, go back to the WhatsApp menu on your phone and choose to log
out from all devices, or on your computer by clicking on the three-dot icon at
the top of the conversation, and selecting the Logout option.
How to make video calls through WhatsApp on the desktop
WhatsApp will implement multi-party desktop video conferencing within its web application to accommodate up to 50 participants. Often times this is ready to provide an alternative to Zoom, Skype and Google Meet, which promises to be very suitable for WhatsApp users. The feature remains in beta and hasn't been released to the public yet. Group video chats are already available inside the mobile versions of the app.
